Red Carpet Buzz: Ali Larter
Ali Larter wore a Dolce and Gabbana polka-dot dress to the annual Shine On Awards honoring remarkable women last night in New York City. The pleated chiffon and playful polka dots were trendy and cheeky, while the deep V-neck and waist-cinching style showed off her curves beautifully. Larter accessorized her dress with black patent-leather pumps and sleek strands to keep the overall look polished and chic.

PARIS, March 7, 2011 Akris
Albert Kriemler's pre-fall palette was a muted one of graphite, taupe, and storm blue, inspired by photographs of Icelandic landscapes. Spring's line-play continued, but now in monochrome on a textured sweater, say, or on a topper that featured fur worked in geometric stripes. Fuller pants were shown with slightly militaristic jackets, some made of double-faced cashmere. Two knit dresses, in contrast, were all about curves.
You Have a Classic Clothing Personality!
A Classic clothing personality is a sign of grace and tasteful style.
Your Celebrity Style Twins: Chanel, Jackie O, Katie Holmes (Classic and Sporty), Ashley Olsen (Classic and Dramatic), Brooke Shields, Victoria Beckham, Lauren Conrad (Classic and Trendy), Angelina Jolie (Classic and Minimalistic)
You dress more conservative than other fashionistas and your wardrobe consists of a lot of neutrals such as black, gray, navy blue and beige. Clean, straight lines dominate your closet. You prefer to keep your outfit simple and highlight your personality. A tendency to match your clothes is in your genetic makeup. And you're definitely not into loud, faddish trends.
If you're young (below 25) you might have had people commenting on how you dress older, and more mature for your age.
This is a style many women tend to be drawn to because of the simplicity and chic'ness. Minimalism and Preppy fashion are also a variation of this style. Classic style also overlaps with Dramatic and Sporty.

Open Toe ShoesOpen toe shoes
Open toe shoes have been the cutting-edge shoe trend for the past few years and will maintain its momentum in the next few seasons. It's no wonder they're here to stay; peep toe shoes are just so irresistibly sexy yet sophisticated! You and I should look forward to these retro-inspired shoes as they are continuously being morphed into designs you've never seen before!
Whatever season we're in, open toe shoes will always add a little va-va-voom to your style. You can find them in all kinds of designs, such as vampy open toe boots, slip ons, wedge and of course, the classic and wonderful pump style. Thanks to Sex & the City Carrie Bradshaw the peep toe bootsies have become a major hit and won't make us look stupid in winter! They're perfect for both everyday and special occasions, from skinny jeans, tights to pencil skirts.
PARIS, October 3, 2010
The minimalism trend has been good for Akris' Albert Kriemler. Everyone's shopping for a pantsuit lately, and smart tailoring is in his family company's DNA. The upshot: More than a few women who might've previously written off the Swiss brand as strictly for uptown types have been turned on by the quality of its fabrics and the sharpness of its cuts. Other Paris collections are moving away from the spare and the streamlined this week, but not Akris.
The starting point was the classic button-down shirt. (Funnily enough, there was a similar inspiration at an otherwise very different brand, Viktor & Rolf, a day earlier.) Kriemler opened with a simple, but not boring, asymmetrical shirtdress in crisp white cotton, and riffed on the idea in denim and (surprise!) a lush floral-print organza.

Best design Fall 2011Trend Reports
Cleavage made a, um, big comeback on the Fall runways, with hourglass silhouettes front and center. Nina Ricci's combo of bustier and curve-hugging, below-the-knee pencil skirt had a retro 1950's twist, as did the made-for-Christina Hendricks dresses at Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. At Prada, meanwhile, Lara Stone and co. made the case that curvy catwalkers should be more than just a novelty.design
Spring 2011 Trend Reports
You'd never know it from looking outside in New York, London, or Paris—all of which have been hit by brutal winter storms—but spring is here…or at least the collections we saw way back in September are finally arriving in stores. And from hyper colors to crazy prints, there's plenty to shake you out of your seasonal affective disorder-induced doldrums. We're seeing a warming trend.

Building a Solid Closet With Fashion Tops
Whether you have a lot of money or you're on an average-Jane-budget, I recommend you to focus on basic yet timeless fashion tops that can be easily accessorized into different looks and be flexible to be worn to most occasions, for both as casual everyday wear and fun party nights.
There are 3 types of fashion tops that you should make sure that you have enough to keep you covered all-year-around:
1. Casual tops: for everyday wear, layering and leisure time. Can be worn to most occasions as long as you accessorize and match it right.
2. Dressy tops: for formal occasions like office work, dinner parties. Or when you need to look sophisticated at a birthday bash for a slightly conservative grandma, aunt, mother-in-law, etc.
3. Party tops: for casual parties and going out

New Museum Gala
New Museum threw a star-packed fundraising gala underneath crystal Swarovski chandeliers. The event raked in $1.3 million and drew the likes of George Condo and John Currin and Rachel Feinstein Currin—if nothin else, a reminder that the downtown institution is the only major museum in town devoted entirely to artists who are young or at least still young enough to party.
